The money earned goes to support Second Amendment programs and lawsuits to protect our Second Amendment rights.

The Calguns Foundation recently hired a lawyer and defended Ian Farias in an illegal arrest involving the legal transportation of a shotgun. They won $35,800 for Ian and had the courts mandate that the Calexico police force train their officers in the gun laws and protected firearms rights.

If you are a resident of California, you probably have drooled over owning a full-automatic firearm with a suppressor. You may have thought how nice it would be to own a WWII .50 BMG to rock & roll on a secluded range.

Maybe you can do it and include responsible family members, too. You need to investigate a California NFA Trust.

I am not a lawyer and I do not have any knowledge about this, but Davit Goldman and Kevin L. Thomason (both Attorneys at Law) claim they do. Check out the California NFA Trust web site.

If you decide to do it, I recommend getting a second opinion from one of the best 2A attorneys in CA, IMHO, Don Kilmer. Besides filing several Amicus Briefs in important cases like Heller, He has been fighting the Nordyke gun show case for 10 years, pushing it through the courts.

You wouldn’t think it, but California is a stand your ground state. It does seem odd as just about every gun law you can imagine is embraced by the liberal, communist progressive legislature.

Anything that can prevent you from defending yourself has been outlawed, as concealed carry is dead in California except if you live in a area where the sheriff has read the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Oh, and you can easily get a CCW permit if you fork out $20K to some particular liberal politicians’ reelection campaigns. Yes, the price is up from $10K as campaign expenses have risen.

Ammoland found the only law that allows us Californians to protect ourselves:

In light of this judicial feat, before juries hear testimony in cases where the defendant claims to have acted in self defense, the jury is instructed according to California Criminal Code 3470:

[The defendant] is entitled to stand his or her ground and defend himself or herself, and, if reasonably necessary, to pursue an assailant until the danger of death or great bodily injury has passed. This is so even if safety could have been achieved by retreating.

Now, all you do is have to be able to find something with which to defend yourself. You can’t carry a blackjack or even a baseball bat.

Forget any martial arts materials or even a knife that’s capable of inflicting enough damage to stop an attacker cold. Maybe you might luck out and hope your attacker has rubbed their body with raw meat – a mountain lion or bear might save you.

While it would be unreasonable to think that the Brady Campaign (formerly Handgun Control) would start supporting people’s rights to own firearms, they did admit no gun laws could have stopped One Goh from shooting and killing some students at Oikos University in East Oakland, California.

One Goh legally purchased a .45 caliber pistol, passed the instant FBI background check and waited the mandatory 10-day waiting period required by California. He then picked up the firearm.

Three people were killed and three others were injured.

A Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence lobbyist, Amanda Wilcox, admitted that no gun laws could have stopped this senseless shooting. “It wasn’t a failure of laws. I just don’t see how our gun laws could have stopped something like that.”

Despite the admission, don’t expect the Brady Campaign to stop supporting every anti-gun law that comes down the pike.

That right, people kill people. Guns can kill just as well as a baseball bat to the head or a knife to the heart.

We need to educate people and teach them the 10 Commandments. As long as those are obeyed by everyone, crime will cease to exist.

Anti-gun activists have been totally silent on the latest home invasion shooting. Maybe that is because the target of the home invasion saved himself and his girlfriend from severe harm or even death.

CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb had some comments on this shooting:

“The case in North Bend underscores the absolute foolishness of homeowner disarmament. Based on reports from the Sheriff’s Department, the dead man had smashed his way into the house with a propane tank, and then repeatedly threatened to kill the people inside. The couple locked themselves in their bedroom and called the sheriff’s department.

“While the homeowner’s girlfriend was on the phone, he armed himself with a pistol and told the suspect that he had a gun, and that the suspect should leave. Instead, the man smashed through the bedroom door, and the homeowner fired, killing him.

“Sheriff’s deputies were at the scene of the first attempted home invasion, proving that police cannot be everywhere at the same time, and that in an emergency, when seconds count, they could be minutes away.”

Ceasefire, a rabidly anti-self defense group spent $50,000 on an advertising campaign that attempted to convince people to “think twice about having a gun in your home.”

These two people would have been dead if they had taken Ceasefire’s advice. Ceasefire has refused to comment on this shooting so far.

Eric Vita and Jahnisha McIntosh were charged with second-degree manslaughter when their son, Julio Segura-McIntosh, shot himself in the head with Eric’s 9-mm pistol. Eric had put the pistol underneath his car seat when he went to pump gas. Julio pulled the firearm out from under the seat and shot himself in the head.

Prosecutor Mark Lindquist of Pierce County, Washington charged both parents.

Negligence has no place in firearms ownership. You need to be in control of your firearm at all times.

This case is a good example of using the existing laws to deal with firearms misuse. Additional laws, like banning firearms from inside cars, are unnecessary.

Alan Gottlieb Chairman of the CCRKBA stated in a post on the CCRKBA site “The Citizens Committee has maintained all along that the answer to this sort of tragedy is not to rush out and pass some restrictive new law. Instead, Lindquist has acted with an existing statute, and that should send a message to Olympia that we have ample laws already to hold people accountable for their negligent acts.”

There are way too many gun laws and we do not need any more. Our current laws are quite capable of sealing with any criminal situation that may arise.

Tim Donnelly, California State Assemblyman for the 59th district has received death threats on his efforts to overturn the Dream Act which gives illegal immigrants taxpayer funds for their college education. He kept a loaded Colt .45 close by. Keeping an unloaded gun close by is useless.

Tim forgot to remove the firearm from a bag and that bag would up going through a scanner at an airport. OOPS! He was issues a citation and released to board the flight.

Tim appeared in court today with a plea deal that netted him a 3-year probation and a $2,215 fine. His Colt Mark IV pistol in a .45 caliber and two partially empty magazines will be destroyed.

The Sacramento Bee reported that “Donnelly was ordered not to use, possess or own a firearm not registered to him”

I have a couple of questions: will Tim be allowed to keep his other firearms, if any? Can he still buy a firearm and register it?

Now, I have some observations. First of all, the Colt Mark IV had two magazines. One mag had five rounds of ammunition and the other had 4 rounds.

Congressman Donnelly, next time you have a firearm in your possession, make sure both magazines are full!

The case is being heard in The James R. Browning Courthouse, at 2:30 PM. Arrive at least one hour early. The last time Don Kilmer was here fighting the Nordyke v King case, the court was filled and many people had to see it via TV in the overflow rooms.

Wear business clothes and leave the BDUs, cammo and caps at home. Do not carry any knives or guns (leave them at home or locked up in the car, as you will be searched through a security screening station.

Call ahead to see if cameras, recorders or cell phones are allowed. Be sure to put your cell or smartphone on silent or vibrate. You wouldn’t want to be embarrassed by a call causing you to be ejected from the courtroom.

I came across this information from Cristy – thanks! The original email came from Steve of the Laguna Seca Sport Shooters Association.

Glock 23 Gen4 - via Glock US

Fellow shooters,

This probably does not apply to most of you, but for those whom it does, it’s a great deal. Glock has changed their rules again for extending Law Enforcement discounts to some other groups. Bottom line is that you may purchase a brand new Glock pistol for $425.00 + tax and DROS if you are in one of the following groups:

Sworn Law Enforcement Officers or Federal Agents, Retired Law Enforcement Officers or Retired Federal Agents with “retired” credentials, Corrections Officers, including Parole & Probation Officers, State licensed Security Companies, State licensed Armed Security Officers, Active Military, National Guard, or Military Reserve personnel (all branches), including Retired Military with “retired” credentials only, Licensed Para- Medics or EMTs, Fire Fighters (including volunteers) with appropriate I.D., Court Judges, District Attorneys and Deputy District Attorneys, LE Academy Cadets with enrollment documentation from the academy.

If you are one of these people you can purchase a “blue label” pistol at either Markley’s in Watsonville or LC Action in San Jose. These are the only Glock “blue label” dealers I’m aware of in our area. I bought my Glock 17 a few years ago through this program.

Happy shooting,

Steve

If you belong to one of these groups, you may want to check into finding a Blue Label Glock dealer and get a nice discount. After all, you can always have another firearm.
