Educate the public on concealed carry and the right to self defense – May 16 at 5:30 pm in Seattle, Washington

On Monday, May 16th, 2011, ‘Living for 32’ will be shown at Town Hall in Seattle, Washington.  The movie is the story of Colic Goddard, a 21-year-old senior at Virginia Tech University.

When the horrific massacre took place by a cold-blooded murderer, Colin was the only student who happened to call police.  He was wounded four times.

This is an excellent opportunity to ask the question if concealed carry by a number of students and teachers could have reduced the number of people murdered by this cold-blooded killer.

The May 16th screening at 5:30 pm gives all of us Second Amendment folks a chance to try and educate the public. Before the showing of the film, the president of Washington CeaseFire, Ralph Fascitelli, will introduce Colin Goddard who will discuss the film and discuss his experience.  There will also be a public Q & A session with Colin, Ralph and Kristina Anderson.  Kristina Anderson is also a VT survivor and happens to be a board member of WA CeaseFire.

  • It would be fantastic if fifty or so friendly law-abiding citizens in casual or casual business attire were to participate in asking thought-provoking questions.

These questions will not change the mind of the people on the panel, but that is not the objective.

The goal should be to foster understanding of the Second Amendment and the right to self defense among the general public.

After the discussion, stay and watch the movie and refrain from commenting during the movie.  Afterwards is the second important part – hang around after the movie and fellowship with the people.

This will go a long ways to show that people who support the Second Amendment are cool folks!

If Colin had any understanding of what happened at VT that day, he would have joined Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and fought for the students’ right to self-defense.   Instead, Colin drank the Kool-Aid and volunteered to be a shill for the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

A point of interest: Andrew Goddard, Colin’s father spearheaded a drive to outlaw concealed carry on campus and adopt draconian gun restrictions on law-abiding citizens.  In fact, he worked closely with the Brady Campaign, so I can understand his son’s attraction to the Brady Campaign.

Interesting quote: “I only wish I had a gun rather than a camera,” said Sebastian D’Souza, who worked for the Mumbai Mirror during the 2008 Muslim terrorist massacre in Mumbai, India.
